Side Sewn Book

Side sewn book binding refers to when the text block of pages are sewn through at once along the binding edge. When compared to signature-sewn book binding, side sewn books can be considered simpler to prepare. The downside is that the book does not open completely flat. This might cause a loss of real estate on the page’s visibility near the gutter. When using side sewn binding, consider the placement of artwork or text to ensure that it remains visible.
